The more I hear about reviewers getting reamed these days, I want to be careful. I am not a hater, nor a lover. I am a reader. I hate works and I share it. I love works and I share it. In the age when reviewing was new and fresh on blogs, I used to have more fun conversing with authors on a completely different blog. Now there is too much tension for my liking. I don't want to risk getting stalked for honesty, or judged by others for all positive glowy reviews.
Therefore, I will review but not on places like GR. There is no guarantee of a review if I know for a fact it's just not something I want to read.
I don't wait to give each book a yes or a no. Here is why:
These days an author sends out tons of copy and paste invites for their book. THEY KNOW the chance of hearing back is becoming more slim. Some authors try and attach the book for 'if you change your mind' or 'look and you decide'.
If a blogger accepts then they give a roundabout time (usually within 3-6 months) when to expect the review. How many make good on that promise? Some, but not everybody.
Screw that. I want to get the book myself and decide. Skip one damn step.
Books of around 10,000 words is a short story. I will provide full reviews. Click here for form.
If you have a novel or a novella, I will read the first 10,000 words and share what I thought of it. (Not available for Amazon review unless I choose to read the rest.) Click here for form.
I don't exchange stuff among pirates. I don't exchange stuff period.
